Born in 1980 in Lisbon. Studied in the National Conservatory of Dance (EDCN), under Georges Garcia's guidance. Solange joined the National Ballet of Portugal (CNB) in 1998, where she was a Principal Dancer. Between 2005 and 2007, she was a Soloist at the Norwegian National Ballet. Throughout her career, Solange has danced the principal role in some of the great classics: Swan Lake (Odette/Odile), Giselle (Giselle and Myrtha), Sleeping Beauty (Aurora), Romeo and Juliet (Juliet), Cinderella (Cinderella), Nutcracker (Clara and Sugar Plum Fairy), Firebird, among others. In addition, she has performed many neoclassical and contemporary ballets by Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, Paul Lighfoot/Sol Léon, Hans van Manen, Olga Roriz, Ohad Naharin, Vasco Wellemkamp,  among others. Solange was co-creator of the children's ballet Cinderella on Tiptoe and Dó, Ré Mi, Perlimpimpim. Apart from dance, she has designed costumes and is currently studying Business Management at the Open University UK. Presently she dances as a freelancer and is dedicated to the creation and production of independent projects, as well as to Arts Education programs in Schools. As a guest teacher, she is invited to several dance Schools around Portugal. In 2018, Solange and Fernando Duarte found the Choreographic Platform, Dança em Diálogos, sharing the position of Artistic Director. Murmurs of Pedro and Inês was the first ballet produced by the platform and winner of the Anna Mascolo Dance Award by the Mirpuri Foundation.
