Cristina Vieira was born on 19 May, 1978, on Madeira Island, Portugal. 
From 1999 to 2007, she studied Painting in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Porto (Oporto) and Design at the University of Madeira. 

While attending High School, she joined music projects such as “Feiticeiros do Norte” and “Banda d’Além”, aimed at collecting and promoting The Traditional Songbook of Madeira. She is still engaged with Banda d’Além, performing both as an instrument player and as a singer. In this capacity, she has participated in three albums:

From 2014 onward, owing to her growing interest in cinema, she turned to video and filmmaking at a professional level.

Cristina Vieira is a self-taught, independent filmmaker, whose work explores experimental, alternative filmmaking, in collaboration with Nuno & The End. She has a versatile, eclectic approach, with a multilayered, poetic style.
