Catarina Carvalho, International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) representative in Geneva working on young people, women and girls rights. Before she was the Senior Policy Advisor at the High Level Task Force for the ICPD, with 20 years of experience working with the United Nations and EU systems, including roles in the Permanent Missions of Portugal, Spain, and the European Union Delegation to the UN. As a consultant for UN Women she elaborated on an analysis on the CEDAW Committee recommendations and UNIFEM programmes in Latin America; she was also responsible for the elaboration of the National Policy on Gender Equality in Guinea Bissau. A Portuguese national, Carvalho holds a Master's degree in Political and Social Sciences from The New School in NY and a Licenciatura from Universidade Autonoma de Lisboa.
